Based on the User Engine.NET Pro application, Group Manager.NET is an extensible platform for securing any HTML web page by simply renaming it to an .ASPX file and including a small header which checks if a user is logged in and has permission to view the page.The web application comes with a HTML generator which is used to produce these protection headers.Users can signup, where their details are stored in either a Microsoft Access 2000/XP/03 or SQL Server database.Once logged in a user may edit his/her details in an 'Edit Profile' section.Administration of Group Manager.NET is simple, an admin area is provided where users can be viewed, removed, queried by name, country, opt-in choices, etc.

Windows 8 estimates: 500 million users in 2013

Microsoft expects to launch a new wave of optimism with Windows 8. In a recent statement, Steve Ballmer, chief executive at Microsoft, estimates that Windows 8 will reach a total of about 500 million users by the end of 2013.
